1. Site Sell--this is a new development for our family where Daniel and I are involved in creating our own websites through a company that teaches us how to make quality content and get high traffic so our websites have potential to monetize. This is being done in an effort to have a side business we can work on at home or whereever we are whenever we want. Daniel loves strategizing with me and especially watching the training videos for sitesell. We spend a lot of our time right now using their software to try to find our individual niche or topic for our sites. It is sopposed to be something we are passionate about but that is also in high demand and that the supply or competition isn't too heavy. For me, I have been brainstorming for 2-3 weeks and am still undecided. This could be the hardest part of the process because it lays the groundwork for everything else being successful. I am excited for the prospect of having a business I can work on even as a stay at home mom, and even more so something that helps me connect to my husband as an entrepreneur. I have come to learn that one of Daniels favorite activities is dreaming about potential business ventures, he is an entrepreneur to the core.
2. Surfing- We have gone a handful of times now, but it can be addicting. The thing about surfing is its not as much hassle as our kayaking adventures because you just grab the surfboards and go--kayaking takes time to get all the gear strap the kayak to the car and then to wash off all the gear and get it home is a big ordeal as well. One of Daniel's buddies recently told him that we need to try surfing at a location called Sunset cliffs because the waves are big and break really clean so you can ride them longer, so we plan try it out this week. The picture is one of the first days we tried surfing, Daniel has rode some real waves as opposed to white water since then.
3.Hydrogen, solar and electric energy-Daniel was obsessed with finding a way to convert our car and run it on water last week and this week he is continually searching and talking about converting it to purely electric energy. All of this was spurred by the rising gas prices in California and all over for that matter. It also of course stems from Daniel's entrepreneur mindset and forward thinking. He is learning all he can about alternate forms of energy and may even make his sitesell site on this topic. It does have great potential in the near future for business ventures as the economy changes and people are forced to find different ways to do things.
4.His calling in the Elders Quorum- Daniel is the second counselor in the Elders quorum and he is really focused on home teaching and is also making a picture directory so that people can learn each others names and be more connected. According to Daniel, our ward needs a lot of help and there is a lot of good that can be done. Its nice to have a husband that is so passionate about building zion and has a noble heart.
