Conclusion of Sister Time in San Fran

Oh the memories. My sister Rachel and I did oh so many fun things in the 5 days I was there, but turns out we didn't get pictures of all of them. Mostly we just were silly and spontaneous--the things that bring added joy in life right. Although Rachel did make an itinerary for what we were going to do, I think we did very few things on her list. Here are some other pictures from the night we went to the Stinky Rose resturant and then walked around the city. Oh, in answer to Brookes inquiry about the garlic ice cream--we didn't actually get it, although they do have it, we were just too stuffed from dinner. Actually, we overdid it on the garlic/olive oil/parsley dip with the bread that you eat while you're waiting to order--we downed the whole container and 2-3 plates of bread (little heffers right). Our waiter told us that he didn't recall if he had seen anyone ever eat the whole container of that stuff in one sitting.

Sister Love, so cute! We look like sisters I think.

So this was like the one thing on Rachel's list that we actually did--watch the blue Angels air show for "fleet week". We actually went to a party with all her lawyer friends (her boyfriend is a lawyer too) . It was at a posh apartment downtown. The blue angels do some pretty snazy tricks, and a couple times I was taken off guard when they would come out of nowhere and flew within 100 feet of us and hundreds of miles per hour and really loud--what a rush!

I was trying to be a valiant warrior in the cause of families while I was there, so I sported a "Yes on Prop 8" bumper sticker across the front of my purse while we were out site seeing one day in liberal headquarters. My sister told me I might get beat up for it, I was a little disappointed that I didn't. Part of the reason could be that the dang sticker would not stay on--maybe Heavenly Father was trying to protect me. This picture is taken at one of the highest points where you can see all of the city (I am not really facing the city angle here though).

A couple of these are just random pictures in Rachel's cute studio apartment that she decorated herself--most of the artsy stuff you see were made by Rachel. In fact, right now she is working on art piece partially made out of cut up cardboard stuffing that she found in someones trash, but it looks like something a modern artist would do--she is very talented.

I think Rachel is getting a little sassy with the photographer

Of course, I will always make it a point that if I am in a city with a "chocolate" landmark, we are so there! Ghiradelli square is like a mini willie wonka chocolate factory--we ordered a ice cream shake, I was a little disappointed that it melted literally like 30 seconds after we got it so we just dug for chocolate chunks to salvage in it after that--those were yummy. It was also fun to see the huge grinder and mixer machines making the chocolate--I need to get me one of those for my house.

This picture was taken a little off guard, I look a little suspicious--Probley just killing time, hoping my hubby would call me so I knew he missed me as much as I missed him while I was gone. Next time I go to see Rachel I am bringing him with us.

One really fun thing we did that we didn't get a picture of is go to the huge, most beautiful park downtown. While we were there, I was a little troubled by all the homeless people (san fran is the hub for homeless), and one homeless guy had gotten a hold of a bunch of food and he offered to give us some because he said "everyone has a right to eat". Rachel and I believed him so the next day we made a bunch of Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and handed them out to the homeless guys--it was super fun and gave me lots of warm fuzzies.
