The Work and the Glory Marathon
Daniel and I discovered The Work and the Glory movie last week which we are inherited from his parents, along with their 60 inch big screen tv and a lot of their furniture, while they are on their mission. We casually started watching while we were winding down from lunch one day and got so enthralled in the fictional yet historical story of a family and the struggles they went through to come to gain a testimony of Joseph Smith and of the church amide all the struggles in the early days of the Restoration. We came to find out that their were two sequels to the original and were obsessed with obtaining them. We spent a considerable amount of time calling video stores to see if they had either of the sequels, but it turned out that mormon historical movies are not in great demand around here. I had to go use some of our budgeted "date night" money to buy them at Deseret book. When Daniel got home from work I surprised him with the movies and even though it was late, and our bedtime is sopposed to be 10pm, we stayed up until 3 in the morning watching BOTH of them because they are that captivating. There was even a couple times I looked over at Daniel and he had tears in his eyes--I've never seen him get into a movie that much. Good times!
